Technology Benefiting Humanity

Technology Benefiting Humanity

Imagine using a cell phone combined with diagnostic microscopy to expand basic healthcare in remote poverty-stricken areas around the globe. Rethink how use of a social entrepreneurship model can help communities gain access to clean water and sanitation. Design a system to increase intercultural understanding and promote citizens' concerns in mainstream media.

For each of the last ten years, the Tech Awards, presented by Applied Materials, has honored innovators who are using technology to address some of the world’s greatest challenges. This year, fifteen Tech Laureates – including those working on the projects mentioned above – will be recognized for their work in improving the way people live.

The Laureates and Queen Rania Al Abdullah of Jordan, this year's James C. Morgan Global Humanitarian Award recipient, will be honored at a November 6 gala in California. Read more about the laureates and see a video announcement of this year's honorees.
